TPACK Reflection

when using the technology I use to teach my lesson helps get the students attending because what kid or person doesn't like using technology and having fun at the same time. youtube has a lot of fun things on there that will caught a student attention quickly.

when you use something that you know students will like to learn about and ands also make a way where they can have fun doing it, then you know it's working.

my strategy for teaching this lesson was to show them a fun video of other 2nd graders doing the same drills they were about to do, so they would get a better feel for it and see how much fun they were having learning how to drill.

so when using youtube I wanted the students to get a better understanding on what I explained to them before we get into the drills. and so they will know why it was so important to learn how to shoot a dribble the right way was the main thing in basketball.

to be honest YouTube is probably the only best strategy for the class im coaching because it will gives the students a better understanding and step-by-step instructions. unless you being in someone that has been there and done great things in the sport that the young ones are in now.

when playing basketball in order to get better or see improvement on your skills you have to repeat things over and over again so your brain will remember what going on. Muscle memory is very important for students that young so when watching or participating in a drill for them is good to go over in more then once. so thats why I use YouTube videos.

8. when using them strategy the student will also be able to learn how YouTube work and will some day show others what helped them get better understanding or things when you want to improve your skills to the next level. and for the the 2nd graders that I'm teaching they will learn how to be productive when using technology

  1. I learned alot from your lesson today. I enjoy how highly interactive it was , this enhances the learning process for a student like myself. When you can move around it keeps your attention and focus better. The only change I might have made would be to focus on maybe one or two skill sets at a time. Good job!

  2. I really enjoyed how interactive your lesson was! It was good to show the basketball skills by example. It might help the learning process more if you spent time learning more about the second skill than jumping into the defensive drill.

  4. The videos you found to go into your lesson fit really well. How you described the correct way to shoot a basketball was very good. If you were actually teaching these skills I would suggest only doing one or two at a time so that the players can really focus on being better at each specific skill. Over all very good lesson.

  5. I enjoyed your presentation! It was fun participating in your drills! Basketball definitely takes a lot of skills! I would suggest only focusing on one drill at a time so the athletes can focus on and perfect that skill.
